Electrically accessing Switchable Triradical Molecular Qubits 

This project aims to identify much stronger electric field effects in molecular spin triangles and further to elucidate the mechanism of spin-electric couplings. Radical-ligand-based spin triangles, in contrast to conventional metal-based spin triangles should: feature colossal interspin couplings(J > 1800 cm–1), possess electronic structures that are asymmetrically tunable by chemical synthesis, and have multiple accessible redox states, enabling redox switching of properties. Here they will be made and investigated for the first time.
