Molecular Nanomagnets

Our group studies molecular nanomagnets (MNM) by means of a wide variety of spectroscopic and magnetometric techniques. We also prepare some of our own systems. MNM are interesting because they might one day be employed in ultrahigh-density magnetic data storage systems or even in quantum computers. Also, they are perfect systems to study fundamental physical properties of mesoscopic systems. Mesoscopic materials are those that lie between the quantum world of single particles and small molecules and the classical world, which is the world that we experience.
