Rheometer

Model Physica MCR 501, Anton Paar

Device for investigating rheological properties

The Physica MCR 501 is a shear rheometer which can be used both in rotational and in oscillatory mode [1]. It is used to measure the storage modulus G’ and the loss modulus G’’ which determine the viscoelastic properties of the studied material.

For our samples we employ different plate-plate and cone-plate measuring geometries.

For investigating temperature-dependent phenomena the spectrometer is equipped with a temperature unit. All experiments are set-up and controlled by the software RheoPlus.
